Acting is so relatively therapeutic for me.  I love getting into character and becoming someone else. I’ll never forget my first “real” acting experience when I was about 4 or 5 years old.

I got the lead role in a local commercial and I remember arriving to set and they rehearsed me for about half an hour. Soon after that the director yelled “ACTION!” and it was showtime. I remember delivering the lines straight through the first time and being pulled to the side and being told I was doing a great job. But they kept having me shoot the same thing over and over and over and for a five year old you can imagine my patience.

So of course I asked why we kept doing it again and again (outspoken as always haha) and the director tells me it’s so they can choose the best take. I’m sure he used words that a five year old could understand but you get my drift. It was my first “real” acting experience and it taught me the art of doing it until it was perfect.

From then I would act out scenarios on my own and with my Mom over and over. I remember going to acting camp during the summer and putting on plays and recording skits and making sure my team and I kept redoing it until we got the best take.

It prepared me mentally of what was to come, shooting the same take over and over, script changes, and long hours. My first acting experience was great and the experiences that followed were even greater.
