Related to my other post about mobile film making I decided to post some “iPhone Cinema” videos. I realize some people have questions about the kinds of videos you can create with your mobile phone. There is some brilliant videos I can’t deny. So why not share? I love to share stuff!

Check out the video below took by Jason Ruscio called “Bus Stop.” It’s about a bench at a bus stop.  Okay, it doesn’t sound interesting when I put it like that but there is a personal reason for this bench and I think the story behind it is really heartfelt.

I posted the description and video below. Check it out! I was kind of surprised it was made with a phone. More videos to come…

“Bus Stop” is a single timelapse shot taken from inside the GDCA Gallery in downtown Los Angeles, which I run with my wife. This simple short is actually quite personal. Why? The black bench, which is the center piece of the film, was not there a month ago. Day after day I would watch as people, many with canes and barely able to stand, would wait for their bus to arrive.

So one day I decided to do something about it. After hours of phone calls, I finally tracked down the person responsible for installing bus benches in downtown LA. Several days later I stepped outside, turned the corner onto Spring Street…and there it was!

Must admit, it brings a smile to my face to now see an old woman pushing a cart, or a man with a cane drop down on the bench, and breathe a sigh of relief. Yes, it’s the little victories!
