Sci-fi, Horror and Fantasy are some of the genres that I really wish we had more representation in. “Brother From Another Planet” remains one of my favorites. So the question is are people of color just not writing these projects or is Hollywood not accepting these projects?

Personally, all three genres have been something I’ve just started to explore in my own writing. It’s not something I think you can produce on a bare bones budget, which is why I’ve opted to work on the getting the screenplay to a good place before shopping it around.

This panel will hopefully shed some light on this question.
