Maddy (Real name MadarakaGatabaki) is a native of Kenya, Africa, but is based in London. She graduated from a “Skillset Academy” and left with a huge passion for directing. When it comes to films she is driven to tell a story in a truly artistic way using all the tools available to her. She credits “Orson Welles” as one of her role models and her main goal when she makes her film is to engage an audience into the story, capture their heart and take them on a journey with the characters. She is very creative, has written scripts and directed two short films including “Vision Lucida” which is a pilot for a feature film. It’s a short film exploring the artistic passion of a young photographer coming to terms with losing her sight. Her second film “Toy Soldiers” tells the story of two best friends who as children played with toy soldiers but as adults experience the harsh reality of war. Her creative spirit, her determination, positive and joyous attitude makes her a great person to work with. What drives her is her passion to make a great film and to always keep learning and becoming a good collaborator with other talented individuals. She says “when I read a script and fall in love with the characters, I feel like I owe it to the characters to make a great film and when working in a team I always give 110 percent to any project I work in.”
Toy Soldiers.
Vision Lucida.
