[BLOG] Cynical Owl Review: “R.A.G.E”, R.I.P Trayvon Martin.
The Cynical Owl really took off after the release of R.A.G.E. Written and directed by Melissa Murray, R.A.G.E is an experimental film inspired by the Trayvon Martin case.
On the night of February 26th 2012, an unarmed Trayvon Martin (17) was shot and killed by George Zimmerman (28) during an altercation that took place which Zimmerman stated was self defense. He was found not guilty on July13th. This case sparked outrage and to this day it’s still an open wound. When the verdict was announced outside my window I heard screaming, cars honking, a few gunshots. It boils my blood to even think about that case. I know Melissa Murray felt that way and when you’re angry, you write and let that emotion work your fingers on that keyboard. That anger lead to R.A.G.E.
This film caught the attention of so many people and has become a great success thanks to you guys. Thank you for spreading the word on the film and all the shares, likes, comments! It’s something I know the Cynical Owl team and everyone else who worked on it very proud! It stars Shaun Wess, Nicole Anderson, Erika J.Wood, Sean Michael Nugent and Joseph Gawalis.
